A poultry farm replaced its incinerator, and close to $8,000 a year in fuel, with a BROME 616 that uses its own spent bedding as bulking agent.
Like many poultry producers, the farm needed a biosecure way to dispose of carcasses. It first chose incineration, but the incinerator needed frequent cleaning and care, took considerable time to operate, and fuel bills came close to $8,000 a year.
The solutionPaul Larouche assessed the farm’s needs and recommended a BROME 616 rotating drum. It needs only a few minutes of operation for each carcass added, and uses less than $100 of electricity a year.
The farm uses its spent bedding as feedstock for the composter, so it does not need to buy wood shavings.
